Sendero de los Pulpos: Nature at its best
This two-kilometer walking trail allows visitors to get close to Floreana's native flora and fauna on a daily basis. Iguanas gilding themselves in the sun and frigatebirds sailing the infinite blue of the sky can be seen during the journey, and at the arrival point, it is also possible to encounter the serene elegance of the flamingos.
Cerro Pajas: Floreana's heart
Located at 640 Meters Above Sea Level (MASL), this hill crowns the high part of the island. Imposing and silent, its profile is visible even before disembarking. At its foothills, there is a forest that preserves its fossil mystery and keeps a zen silence to talk with nature.
Asilo de Paz: Historic caves
If there is a place to approach the enigmatic history of Floreana, this is it. Located 450 Meters Above Sea Level (MASL), here is the cave where the pirate Watkins took refuge and was later used by the Wittmer family. There is also a natural labyrinth to walk through and take pictures. There is also a center to observe the emblematic turtles.
Finca Agroecológica de Claudio Cruz: The agricultural life of the island
La Primavera is a 100 hectares farm established by Eliécer Cruz, father of Claudio Cruz. Claudio personally leads tours of his farm full of corn plants, cattle, and ripe fruits, such as oranges, which can be tasted fresh. The best way to get to know and learn about agricultural life on the island.
Post Office: Time-traveling mail
Post Office is another place that preserves in a small wooden barre a great part of the history of Floreana. It is presumed that the whaling ships used to arrive here to stock up on water and food. It was a captain who apparently placed, in the 18th century, this barrel to leave and receive mail. Today you can repeat that ritual and leave a postcard in the hope that someone nearby will deliver it to the sender.
Mirador de La Baronesa: A royal chamber
At the end of the path that starts at Post Office Bay, you will find what was once the favorite room of the enigmatic Baroness, self-proclaimed owner of Floreana at the time. Bathed in turquoise waters, this is the perfect place to breathe peace and tranquility.
Puerto Velasco Ibarra: the port and the town
The port of entry to the island and the very center where the restaurants, lodging places, the store, the churches and the town school are located. It is common to meet the inhabitants of Floreana on their way to work, who greet everyone they meet with cordiality.
